At Elkay’s Broadview facility, you will see high-mix, low-volume production of various stainless steel products made from coils and sheets. Products include kitchen and bathroom sinks, large institutional scullery sinks, and outdoor tubular drinking fountains and bottle filling stations. Elkay employs a combination of make-to-stock, make-to-order and custom production. Processes include laser cutting, forming, deep draw, manual and robotic welding, grinding and polishing, sand blasting, washing, powder coating, crating and packing. Elkay has a strong safety culture – you will learn all the ways it fosters that culture and continues to improve. See bucket brigade in action at the sink fabrication line. Discover how the company has benefited from gemba walks, KPI visual management, poka yoke, point kaizen and more.

Company

The Elkay Manufacturing Company began as a vision of Leopold Katz and his son Louis on the North side of Chicago back in 1920. Founded with the goals of manufacturing the highest quality sinks and providing the best service possible, the company began to thrive. As time went by, Elkay set the pace with new products, designs and innovations that continue to lead the industry. Elkay delivers world class sinks, faucets, foodservice products, water coolers, drinking fountains and award winning rapid bottle filling stations. Today, with more than 2,200 employees worldwide, it is proud to be America’s number-one selling stainless steel sink company. www.elkay.com
