Join us for the popular one-day AME Lean Boot Camp! This hands-on workshop focuses on lean fundamentals and helps participants to quickly learn and apply lean tools and methods. Participants will tour host company Mission Bell's on-site product development and manufacturing facility. Workshop takeaways include: Lean and kaizen, the eight wastes and their countermeasures, 6S, visual measurement, Kanban, set-up reduction, one-piece flow, standard work, team improvement exercises, and more!


Mission Bell is a California-based company that specializes in quality architectural woodwork, millwork and custom casework. Our work extends from the most intricate one-of-a kind quality woodwork fixtures to standard production cabinets. In addition to that we also source and stock unique Reclaimed and Salvaged Wood with great stories.


Mark Welch has more than 25 years of success as a consulting and operations professional. He has developed and implemented winning lean business strategies, processes and procedures for public and privately-owned businesses ranging in size from $50 million to more than $3 billion in annual sales. Welch previously worked in industrial engineering and plant management positions at Goodyear Aerospace, Amdahl, and Peerless Lighting. He also worked with ITAC and Manex, members of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), to create their lean enterprise program, and served as the director of lean enterprise for Littelfuse. He has consulted with Harland American, Marich Confectionery, Pactiv, PG&E, and Cal Maritime Academy, and is proficient in Hoshin Kanri, A3 problem solving, value stream mapping, standard work development, 3P, flow and pull, with special emphasis in Kaizen facilitation. Welch is an avid supporter of AME, and volunteers his time as a member of AME's Western Board.

Payment or purchase order must be received by the AME office five days prior to the event start date. If no payment or PO number is received, you will be asked to pay with a credit card or check at the event before entry.

Cancellation Policy: Enrollment fee less a $100 non-refundable registration charge will be refunded up to one week before the event. Substitutions may be made up to three days prior to the start of the workshop.
