Go and see how Akron Children’s Hospital has implemented lean in a healthcare environment, and learn how the principles of lean can be applied outside the normal confines of manufacturing. The tour will include a focus on frontline lean techniques including metrics, visuals and first-hand accounts of lean success stories where hospital associates at the gemba drove out waste and created value. Additionally, learn how Akron Children’s Hospital has and continues to take lean into account as the hospital increases its footprint with the design and construction of multiple buildings and expansions in Northeast Ohio. This tour is a must for any CI practitioners that are wanting to move the needle in areas outside manufacturing. For CI practitioners in manufacturing, seeing how the principles are applied will give you new insights and spawn creativity in your application of lean.
