DESCRIPTION

Tapping into the talent of your workforce is more important than ever and is a requirement for staying competitive. How do you position lean leadership to leverage the hidden talents of your workforce? Are your leadership behaviors developing the capabilities of your workforce? Do your leaders form the relationships necessary to implement and drive change?

The people-centric leadership model is a primary tool for developing leadership talent. Connecting with associates has been proven to improve productivity and reduce turnover. In this era of labor shortages, finding, cultivating, and retaining associates is imperative to your lean program.

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of people-centric leadership and then see the application firsthand at Vitamix. They will also learn about implementation wins and hurdles experienced by those who are living people-centric lean.

PRESENTERS

Richard D. Wiltse

Richard Wiltse is a Master Black Belt for Tremco Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of Sealants and Waterproofing technologies. During his 12 year tenure at Tremco Richard was instrumental in developing a Lean Six Sigma program that spans 7 different factories / sites and has accounted for several million dollars in savings. A teacher, instructor, coach, and occasional conference speaker, Richard has presented on various topics ranging from DOE to Value Stream Mapping. As the founder and facilitator of the AME Cleveland Lean Consortia, Richard is currently developing new benchmarking methods and standards in an effort to enhance the Lean programs of all Consortia members. Richard is a certified MBB from The Ohio State University and received his MBA from Shenandoah University and a BS from Illinois State University.

Eric DiMalanta is the chief designer of Vitamix Lean Enterprise, the company-wide strategic initiative focused on improving the flow of customer value by tapping into the energy and hidden potential of its people. He has spent the last 12 years building lean cultures in areas such as operations, new product development, customer service, safety, and information technology across different organizations. Eric has had the pleasure of educating over 1200 people through various lean and six sigma workshops. He developed a solid technical background working several years as a process development engineer in the label converting, oil additive, and lighting industries. As an Ohio native, he earned a chemical engineering bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron and an engineering master’s degree from Case Western University.

You can become an AME member during the registration process for $150 per year and obtain the discounted AME member rate for this event. Payment or purchase order must be received by the AME office five days prior to the event start date. If no payment or PO number is received, you will be asked to pay with a credit card or check at the event before entry.

Cancellation Policy: Enrollment fee less a $100 non-refundable registration charge will be refunded up to one week before the event. Substitutions may be made up to three days prior to the start of the workshop.
