Learn from a 2nd generation owner who has successfully integrated teaching from his father’s business philosophies of honesty and integrity with a high performing business plan, known as the Malcolm Baldrige performance excellence criteria. Your tour host, Dale Crownover, will share his common sense, easy approach to running a successful small business in a very complex, unstable economic environment. On this tour, attendees will see a state-of-the-art Real Time Dashboard and the company's latest two innovations involving lean manufacturing in a small business. Its newly patent pending iSCRUBBER™ substrate cleaning system eliminated the use of rags, decreased solvents by 98 percent and reduced labor cost in one department by 70 percent. Hear how the company completed a two-year stint to go paperless, obtaining an outstanding savings of both time and money and creating its own production software application, Augaware. Both these latest two innovations combine for an annual savings of well over 5 percent of total sales revenue.

Texas Nameplate Company, Inc. (TNC), is a privately held family business that manufactures high quality nameplates, identification tags, name plate tags and custom labels for high-pressure valves, oil field equipment and other industrial products. It is the first small business (and smallest) in the world to twice receive a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (1998 and 2004). TNC is ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certified and is known as the expert in "harsh-environment" metallic nameplates for products that operate in rugged locations or under extreme conditions. www.nameplate.com
