It's St. Patrick’s Day week, when everyone is talking about luck. In the world of lean and continuous improvement, we know something a little different. Great results don’t come from luck alone. They come from small improvements, strong teamwork and the courage to try something better today than we did yesterday.
In other words, lean practitioners don’t spend much time chasing four-leaf clovers. We’re usually too busy improving the process that grows them.
At AME, we’re lucky to have a community that believes in sharing ideas, learning from each other and continuously growing together. Whether it’s a plant tour, a workshop, a summit or our international conference, these moments of connection are where real magic happens and where a lot of great improvement ideas are born.
So, if you’re looking to keep the improvement momentum going this year, here are a few upcoming opportunities to connect with fellow practitioners:
- The ever popular annual AME Back to Basics Virtual Lean Summit is happening every Wednesday in March. This summit is free for AME members and is a great way to revisit core lean principles and sharpen your skills. Join us for the final week!
- The AME Charlotte 2026 Lean Summit (May 5–7) features tours, keynotes and hands-on workshops with fellow improvement leaders.
- And of course, the flagship AME International Conference in Milwaukee (Oct. 26–29, 2026) is an event where practitioners from around the world come together to share real-world continuous improvement journeys.
So, this week, wear a little green, celebrate the spirit and remember that the best kind of luck is the kind we create through daily improvement.
Wishing you a lucky (and lean!) St. Patrick’s Day.
As always, please stay safe and keep looking out for one another.
