Learn about lean processes, metrics, CI, standard work, coaching - feel the engagement of people and values

Sur-Seal's World Class Journey was, and is, the reorganization of its facility. The key to planning was something unexpected - Legos. The Lego model allowed for a higher level of engagement in the project. Hear how it continues to evolve to improve the facility and workflow.

Overview

Partipation in this tour will help you to understand the power of “We Are Sur-Seal.” Learn information on lean processes, metrics, continuous improvement, standard work, coaching, and feel the engagement of the people and the values that are in place. Sur-Seal isn’t your typical business environment. There are no cube fields with walls, no hierarchy to go through to ask the president a question. When someone needs a hand, they get two. Sur-Seal, like its ownership, is a family. This can be seen day to day through its wellness program, values teams and its many hosted events.

Company

Sur-Seal is a second generation family-owned business with a rich history. Founded in 1965 as a simple gasket manufacturing business, it provides custom sealing solutions to leading OEMs around the world. During the first decade of the new millennia, Sur-Seal intensified its focus on customer satisfaction and reduced its customer base to better align with the company’s strengths and core markets. This truly started Sur-Seal’s world-class journey. The transition has continued as the company has expanded its engineering solutions capabilities; Sur-Seal now sources and supplies products globally. It has become a “Proven Productivity Partners™” to its customers. Sur-Seal was the recipient of the AME Manufacturing Excellence Award in 2012. www.sur-seal.com
