Friday, Nov. 8 Location Code
8:00am-12:00pm Randolph 3, East Tower, Concourse Level FW/07
Highlights

Learn about six different forms of space creation and the benefits of it in creating followership and engaged, and successful teams. Attendees will walk away with a new awareness of their thoughts behind their behavior, and a greater ability to adjust their approach to the benefit of empowering the teams they lead.

Overview

Bill Gore, founder of W.L. Gore & Associates, asserted that leadership is defined by followership. And with this foundational understanding he created a highly successful company with a top-rated corporate culture. Simon Sinek has similarly defined leadership the same way. So how does one assess followership, and more importantly, how does a leader create it? Discover some answers through exploration of materials on the topic, through role play and discussion. Hear about the value of self-awareness and the ability to be conscious of our thoughts behind our actions. This space creation is in part what meditation provides and what Stephen Covey talked about when he suggested we hit the pause button between stimulus and reaction. And, space creation is found in the work of Bruce D. Schneider and his Energy Leadership Index where higher levels of energy create perspective that enables wisdom and influence (followership).
