From the CEO: Join us in recognizing AME’s leaders

AME | July 7, 2023

I’m always amazed by the amount of talent and expertise we have in our AME community. It seems every day, I hear about another AME subject matter expert publishing a new book or sharing pearls of wisdom on national and international levels.

AME’s work brings together the industry’s brightest thought leaders and best continuous improvement initiatives. When I accepted this position, I shared that I stepped into the textbooks I have studied for the past decade. Meeting the experts who authored these books in person is surreal and very humbling. AME is home to the best CI leaders in the industry – if you google any lean books, our very own AME family members’ names pop up first.

We honor and celebrate these extraordinary people every day. They truly represent the AME mission of “share, learn and grow.” Having spoken with many of these leaders, I am awed by their humbleness. I want them all to know that our community celebrates all their contributions to our industries every day.

In addition to all they do, these people-centric leaders give back by offering our members AME webinars, in-person events and tours. For example, our industry expert and author, Elisabeth Swan, is offering a webinar on Aug. 1 on honing super skills to drive operational excellence. Our AME Northeast region has invited us to join them on July 18 at the Stone Zoo lean tour for a behind-the-scenes tour of Zoo New England. How amazing is it that a zoo can share its continuous improvement journey, highlight its team improvements and shed light on its shift to a blame-free culture? And, of course, our Western region is offering the incredible Southern California Lean Tour 2023 the week of Aug. 23.

As we focus on our summer, let’s not forget that the best place to network with these leaders will be in October as we Re-Imagine Excellence at the AME Cleveland Conference.

Who in the AME community stands out to you? Let them and us know on LinkedIn. Tag AME so others can thank them as well. Happy Summer!

As always, please stay safe and keep looking out for one another.
