From the CEO: Veterans deserve a network of support

AME | November 11, 2021

As we recognize Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in Canada, I want to highlight the important role that veterans play in the AME community.

In every industry represented by AME members, you will find veterans working in continuous improvement capacities to make their organizations better. This is, of course, not surprising because these individuals were once active-duty military who were working to make our world a better and safer place.

After their service has ended, our military veterans bring their commitment, discipline, and specialized training to their new employers. Veterans are often equipped with the ability to value coaching, lead by example, and execute even the most difficult tasks while under pressure. If you are in a position that hires new employees, I strongly advocate for the hiring of veterans.

On behalf of AME, I thank our veterans for their service. We are fortunate to have a significant number of veterans on our boards of directors, in our volunteer ranks and in our membership. Your selflessness is inspiring, and we are proud to honor and support you during and after your military career.

To help military members and veterans continue their training, expand their network, develop as leaders, and pursue lean certifications and other important tools, AME is proud to offer active duty and veteran military members a free annual membership. To receive this free membership benefit, please enter the code FREEDOM21, while registering for an AME individual membership. This offer is open to military members or veterans in the U.S., Canada, Australia, or any country served by AME and our affiliates.

As always, please stay safe and keep looking out for one another.
