
Tom Hartman serves as the director of operations for Autoliv Americas, the world’s largest producer of automotive safety products with annual sales exceeding $8 billion. Autoliv is an AME Manufacturing Excellence Award and Shingo Award recipient. Hartman provides executive support and strategic leadership for seatbelt, airbag and steering operations. He recently returned from an 18-month assignment in Taubate, Brazil, as president of Autoliv South America, training local management and creating a foundation for the company’s continuous improvement culture in Brazil. He is a member of the Shingo Prize board of governors and a member of the Shingo Academy. Also a member of the team that launched and fostered lean methods within Autoliv, Hartman played a key role in developing their widely-recognized culture.
