I am thrilled to share highlights from the AME Mexico inauguration at Tecnológico de Monterrey, held on June 23. It was a truly inspiring event that marked a significant milestone for our global lean community.
Hosted in the heart of Mexico, this event brought together a powerful network of lean manufacturing and logistics professionals. It was a day filled with deep insights, practical strategies and vibrant discussions centered around the principles of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
We opened the event with a compelling message from Javier Navarro, secretary of government of Nuevo León, on the importance of building and sustaining a strong lean manufacturing network in Mexico — one that supports transformation from the inside out.

Subject matter experts delivered engaging and compelling sessions on timely topics, including visual management, 3P and TPM, daily management systems and logistics in Mexico. Ultimately, all subjects centered around the need for people-centered leaders to drive meaningful change within their teams. AME’s “Meaningful Work Environments” workshop sparked fresh thinking about how lean can enrich workplace culture and employee engagement.
The day concluded with a dynamic panel discussion, offering real-world insights and addressing pressing questions about the role of lean in shaping Mexico’s evolving manufacturing landscape.
This event not only launched AME Mexico but also sparked a wave of excitement and momentum across our growing lean community. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who participated, presented and made this day a resounding success. Featured speakers and panelists, along with Tecnológico de Monterrey students Ayleen Gutierrez and Paulina Mariel Navarro, who served as masters of ceremonies, did an outstanding job facilitating the event.
If you missed it, don’t worry. We’re just getting started in Mexico! Stay tuned for future events and opportunities to connect with this growing community of lean professionals. If you are a practitioner and interested in joining the AME Mexico Regional Board, please reach out to me.

I would also like to acknowledge the pioneers who, over a decade ago, shared a vision of AME Mexico. Thank you, Larry Anderson, Pat Carguello and Doug Carlberg. It has finally happened!
Be sure to join us at the AME St. Louis 2025 International Conference to meet our newest regional board and network with performance excellence professionals from across the globe.
As always, please stay safe and keep looking out for one another.
